Mr. Hentsch is co-founder and chairman of Banque Bénédict Hentsch & Cie SA and was a former managing partner of the private bank Darier Hentsch & Cie., where, until end of 2001, he was responsible for the set-up and development of an institutional department, and the creation of a mutual fund management company.
From 1982-1991 Mr. Hentsch was managing partner of Hentsch & Cie., developing and managing the Latin American business of the Group. In 1991, he initiated the merger between Hentsch & Cie. and Darier & Cie., to form one of the leading private banks in Europe. Before joining Hentsch & Cie he was working for several years at J.P. Morgan in the M&A Department in New York, and was Vice President and representative for Brazil in Sao Paolo.
Educated at the St. Gallen School of Economics, Mr. Hentsch received an MBA in Economics, Law and Social Sciences, and a Master in Banking.
Mr. Hentsch holds board memberships of several organizations including the Boards of Directors of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, the ISC, the foundation of Avenir Suisse and the International Center of Fincancial Asset Management and Engineering (FAME). Furthermore, Mr. Hentsch was several times president of the Association des Banquiers Privés Suisses and the Groupement des Banquiers Privés Genevois.
