Dr. Wehrli started his career as a consultant with McKinsey, where he spent 5 years. In the 80ies, he was a vice director with Credit Suisse in Zurich, responsible for special financing. From 1985 to 1995, Dr. Wehrli was head of sales and marketing and member of the executive committee for the Silent Gliss subsidiary in Berne. Later, he led the German part of Silent Gliss as its chief executive.
In 1995, he joined the executive committee of Gurit Heberlein responsible for the medical division. Three years later, he became COO and in 2000, CEO of the Gurit Heberlein Group.
Further commitments include: President of the Swiss Society of the Chemical Industry SGCI and member of the executive committee of economiesuisse and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SF-Chem AG and Benninger Holding AG as well as member of the boards of Berner Kantonalbank AG, Gurit Heberlein Group, Medisize Group, SIG Group and Kambly AG.
Dr. Wehrli has earned a doctorate degree in philosophy as well as a doctorate degree in theology.
